About Kaleidoscope
Kaleidoscope is a non-profit enrichment program that offers varied educational and cultural opportunities to children in the Merrimack Valley. For the thirty-second summer, Kaleidoscope offers one-week courses, where students are immersed in the subject(s) of their choice. The emphasis is on concrete learning in a creative setting. A highly qualified professional instructor teaches each group.

Average class is 12, with a maximum of 15.

Tuition
$165 for each one-week AM or PM course. Full-day courses are $355. A $30 non-refundable registration fee per family covers processing of each form. Additional fees are charged for several courses which involve extensive materials. This information is included with course description if applicable.
Attend Kaleidoscope for three weeks, including Extended Day, and save! Choose six outstanding one-week courses, stay for lunch and extended day all three weeks, and pay only $1125 (Regular cost: $1,275+). Materials fees extra if applicable, as are premiums on some courses, including full-day courses (additional $25), Lego Robotics (additional $40) and Lego MindStorms (additional $40).
Eligibility
Students from all communities are welcome and encouraged to participate in Kaleidoscope courses. Last summer we enrolled 850 children from 40 different communities. The program is open to all children regardless of race, creed, or ethnic origins.
Grade Level
Grade level requirements, listed with each course description, refer to the student’s CURRENT GRADE at time of registration (not the grade they are entering in the fall). Age refers to age as of June 1, 2012. Please observe these guidelines when registering. If special circumstances exist, please call the director.
Registration
Courses are filled on a first come-first served basis by mail, fax or email. Please use the codes listed with the course descriptions. Checks are made payable to KALEIDOSCOPE. All forms are mailed to Kaleidoscope, Box 506, Andover, MA 01810 or faxed to (978) 475-1422. You are notified promptly by phone if a course is filled. Otherwise, you will receive a confirmation postcard within a week, followed by a detailed letter in early June.
Kaleidoscope in Action
Some of our courses, due to their “active” nature, will require current immunization records as well as updated physicals prior to the start of class. This applies to classes with the following codes: 26, 28, 52, 58, 78, 87, 103, 163, 168.
This camp must comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (105 CMR 430.190C) and be licensed by the local board of health. Visit the Forms section of the website for more information.
Scholarships and Contributions
A limited number of partial scholarships are available. Contributions to Kaleidoscope are tax-deductible and used for this purpose. Interested parties should call or write the director.
Lunch
For those students who enroll in both a morning and afternoon course, a closely supervised lunch area is provided.
Refunds
Prior to April 1, 2012, refunds are given, less a $25 per course cancellation fee. Between April 1 and June 1, a $50 per course fee applies. No refunds are made for cancellations after June 1, 2012. This includes extended day.
Third Child Discount
Register three children and receive a 10% discount off the third child’s tuition. (This applies to the child with the fewest courses.)
