Yoga for Kids

Session: III

Time: AM

Grades K/1/2

Instructor: Laura Blaxter

Course Code: 130

Great children’s literature provides the foundation for teaching yoga skills. After warm-ups, yoga kids hear stories, then discuss the yoga poses found in each book. For example, “Song of the Circus” may inspire lion and elephant poses. Other books may include “Where the While Things Are,” “Bark George” and “From Head to Toe.” Learn alphabet poses from A to Z! Do art projects related to the poses you have learned and record each pose in a special book that you take home at the end of the week. Build strength, fitness and better posture while you are having fun!
